50-Year British Engineering Pedigree

Built on Intellectual Rigour & Independent Integrity

Clancy Consulting Engineers Limited (trading as Clancy, CCE Ltd, Company No. 17316459) was established in 1972 in Greater Manchester. Over more than five decades of continuous practice, the firm has matured into a respected national engineering consultancy operating from six permanent regional studios across England and Scotland.

Throughout our expansion—from establishing our London heritage hub in the 1980s to opening Birmingham at Charles House and acquiring structural timber specialist DBM Consultants—we have deliberately remained independent. This autonomy guarantees that our engineering advice is strictly impartial, unburdened by external corporate parentage, and wholly aligned with the commercial and environmental interests of our clients.

Chief Executive Commitment

“Our focus remains squarely on our core civil and structural roots. We combine creative problem-solving with rigorous technical standards to de-risk complex sites and build resilient infrastructure for future generations.”

Chris Acton — Chief Executive (CEng MIStructE)

Decarbonisation by Design

Our Carbon Reduction & Net Zero Pathway

We recognise the urgent imperative of the climate emergency. As engineers specifying thousands of tonnes of building materials annually, our decisions shape UK carbon metrics for generations.

  • ✓ Net Zero Operational Carbon by 2030: Audited decarbonisation of all six UK offices, business travel, and digital infrastructure.
  • ✓ Net Zero Structural Design by 2045: Routine A1-A5 cradle-to-gate carbon accounting benchmarking projects against LETI and SCORS ratings.
  • ✓ ISO 14001:2015 Environmental System: Third-party audited protocols governing sustainable specification and site impact mitigation.

Embodied Carbon Case Study: Points Cross

On the £160m Points Cross development in Leeds (928 homes), our civil and structural teams achieved a verified 22% reduction in upfront embodied carbon by replacing standard Portland cement with 50% GGBS and refining floor slab geometry via 3D finite element analysis.
